  3. Leechmaster Quick Dox - Hermes External by Jon Davidson

  6. ABOUT: LM (LeechMaster) is an external that will create and maintain 3 data
  7.        files (Top 10 Leeches, Top 10 Uploaders and Top 10 Posters).  The data
  8. files are then displayed to the user as he/she logs onto the BBS.  If the user
  9. is currently on one of the lists they will be notified as they logon to the
  10. BBS.   Also if desired you can set-up LM to skip the "Scan new messages to you"
  11. prompt.  If this selection is used than LM will bypass all of the Hermes logon
  12. information and present it's own custom logon sequence.  If this sequence is 
  13. used it will also notify users if they have EMail waiting.  And if a sysop logs
  14. on it will let them know if there is any Validation Feedback waiting.  Also if
  15. you run the external "Inquisition" LM will let you know how many users are in
  16. the Inquisition folder.

  18. INSTALL: Installation of LM is simple, just drop the external into the Hermes
  19.          external folder and re-run Hermes.  If it is installed correctly you
  20. should see a message such as 'Leechmaster v3.3a, By Jon Davidson' below the
  21. 'Waiting...' text.

  23. CONFIG: After LM is installed select the 'System Prefs' option from Hermes and
  24.         click on the LM Icon.  You are now presented with a dialog containing
  25. the options to LM.  You can use the checkboxes to configure LM as you wish.  
  26. These options are more-or-less self explanitory.  After you have decided which
  27. of the three files (or all) you wish to use click on the 'Update Lists' button
  28. which will scan the userfile and create the Top 10 lists you have configured.

  30. RESEDIT: There are 2 STR# resource strings for each of the 3 data files, one of
  31.          these is the string that is displayed to a user on logon if he/she is
  32. found to be on one of the lists, the other is the string that is used as the
  33. header to the data file as it is outputed.  If you want feel free to use 
  34. ResEdit to edit these STR# resources to you tastes.
